safety tips in case of accident

1)Stay calm. Turn on hazard lights

2) MOVE AS FAR AWAY FROM ON-COMING TRAFFIC AS POSSIBLE. YOU ARE NOT SAFE STANDING BY YOUR CAR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD.  EVEN STANDING ON THE SHOULDER CAN BE DANGEROUS.  VEHICLES DRIVE BY WITHIN INCHES OF OUR DRIVERS.

3) When you are a safe distance from on-coming traffic, call us right away at (716) 533-8877.  When the police arrive, tell them you have already called a tow truck company and we are on our way.  Otherwise, the police are able to choose whichever tow truck company they usually work with.

4) Write down as much information as possible about the accident, the other vehicle, driver and witnesses.

5) Please keep our drivers and other emergency workers in mind when driving past accidents.  Please slow down by at least 20mph and try to move as far as possible away from them.  In 47 other states, it is the law punishable by fines of up to $500 and 3 points on your license.  Many emergency workers are killed each year by vehicles including a tow truck driver on the I-190 in 2008.
